Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq Real Estate Services Sees Activity at Area Schools

Selected by Mahtomedi School District to Sell Wildwood Elementary; Announces Sale of Concordia Academy

The Cushman & Wakefield/NorthMarq Real Estate Services team led by senior vice president Paul Donovan recently listed an elementary school in the Mahtomedi school district for sale and announced the sale of Concordia Academy in Bloomington.

Donovan and his team of advisers, Kevin Peck and Jaclyn May, are representing the Mahtomedi School District in the sale of Wildwood Elementary at 535 Warner Avenue North, Mahtomedi, Minn. The 56,200 sq. ft. property, with 8.64 acres of land, was originally built in 1951, with additions built in 1956 and 1996. The Mahtomedi School District will open a new Wildwood Elementary in September 2013 at a new location. Once that move is completed, the old building will be available immediately. Jon Rausch and Luke Appert, land brokers with C&W/NorthMarq will assist the team in the sale.

“The property will likely serve as a redevelopment site for housing with multiple possibilities,” says Donovan.

Recently, the team completed the sale of Concordia Academy located at 8201 Park Ave. S. in Bloomington. This 58,620 sq. ft. space, with 8.2 acres of land for development, sold for $2,675,000 to the Al Farooq Youth and Family Center. The Cushman& Wakefield/NorthMarq team of Donovan, Peck and May also represented Concordia Academy.

The Al Farooq Youth and Family Center, represented by Ali Giarshi with Real Estate Masters, will be moving to Bloomington from its current 10,000 sq. ft. location in southeast Minneapolis. In addition to serving as a community center, the Al Farooq Youth and Family Center will offer other uses, as a house of worship, school and childcare facility. Concordia Academy still operates its grade 9-12 school at its Roseville campus.
