The Star Tribune has closed on its sale of a 3.4-acre parking lot in the North Loop area of Minneapolis to an apartment developer. The newspaper sold the parcel at 815 N. Second St. for $1.8 million to a partnership that includes Solhem Cos. and TE Miller Development Inc., according to a report from the Star Tribune.
The Business Journal broke news of the land sale and apartment development plan in August. At the time, a spokesman for the Star Tribune said this was excess land on parking lots that surround the company’s printing/production/distribution facility at 800 N. First St. The developers are expected to start construction later this week on the 137-unit apartment building, which is called 815 2nd Street Apartments, according to the report.
